This project was an absolute dream! Our clients are a young, vibrant couple in their early 30’s who were looking for a property where they could create their perfect home. Since these are repeat clients (we designed their first home) the design process was smooth from design concept to completion. We are forever grateful to these incredible clients who trusted us and gave us full carte blanche with the design concept. They were open minded and willing to be brave with the bold choices we presented them.

 

We literally went all out for this renovation.  From start to finish, we changed everything! We began the design process by discussing our clients wish list for this massive undertaking. We began with the floor plans and redesigned every square inch of the home and how the space would be used.  With the new layout, we added a home gym, an office space and a full guest suite complete with a stunning bathroom and walk in shower.

 

Since our clients are young, we really wanted to give a sense of youthful vibrancy to their home.  We chose classic, coastal finishes such as woven light fixtures, bleached white oak floors & millwork. As a juxtaposition to the light finishes, we added lots of dramatic colours in splashes throughout the home including black millwork in the kitchen, the teal vanity in the kid’s bathroom and mauve backsplash in the Primary Ensuite all play a part in creating an interesting, vibrant home.

 

The addition of a stunning Nana Wall in the Dining Room opens up the entire back side of the home to the yard, which allows for incredible indoor/outdoor living and entertaining in the warmer months. We continued with the dramatic black accents in the addition of new windows and French doors all done in matte black. This kitchen is a cooks dream including a gorgeous marble island, oversized gas range and custom storage solutions throughout. The unlacquered brass plumbing fixtures add a beautiful European elegance to the space.

 

There are so many incredible finishes throughout this home but the most unique is the Primary Bathroom.  This bathroom has a unique mauve coloured cement tile by Sarah Sherman Samuel that we had installed from counter to ceiling on the vanity wall.  The crystal light fixture above the oversized matte bathtub is the perfect finishing detail.

 

It has been entirely our pleasure to create this incredible home for this lovely couple and we wish them many years of happiness living here.
