These clients reached out to us after they’d been considering renovating their home for many years but hadn't been able to find the right designer or contracting team to help make their interior design dreams come true. We first met the clients at the initial consultation and noted the home was located in a lovely area of Vancouver. The building was beautiful but interior of the home had seen better days.  We were up for the challenge to transform this space from dark and dated to a light filled, joyful space.

The existing kitchen was dark, cramped, and lacked sufficient storage solutions that our clients desperately required. The flooring throughout was also dark and gave a dated feel to the entire space. We began by completely reconfiguring the kitchen layout. We removed the bar height counter allowing more natural light in from the expansive windows, redesigned the lighting plan, and pushed the kitchen into the dining room. By reconfiguring the floor plan, we were able to gain a considerable amount of kitchen space, allowing for more storage and space for two people to easily function in the kitchen at once.

It was our intention to bring this home back to life by adding a bold yet elegant colour but also by warming and brightening the entire home by replacing the floors with stunning, wide plank, white oak hardwood throughout.  The new kitchen in this home is truly a thing of beauty and we spared no expense designing a highly creative space. We used every square inch by custom designing all the storage inserts including a floor to ceiling pantry that holds small appliances, dry goods, and cookware. This creative kind of organization we designed has given our clients the contemporary, streamlined, and uncluttered kitchen they’ve always dreamed of.

While selecting the green tone for the kitchen, it was most important to note we were intent on using a colour truly reminiscent of the natural beauty of Vancouver. By selecting a tone reflected in our landscape it allowed their home to feel authentically connected to the geographical location.

Our clients were beyond fantastic to collaborate with before, during, and after the project was completed! They both showed such enthusiasm and excitement for the whole process and we truly can’t thank them enough for entrusting Sincerely, Lindsay Design Co. with their interior design project and for continuing to be such a huge support to our ongoing success!

My husband and I had talked about doing a major renovation in our Vancouver condo for years. We also agreed that we needed to find a designer who could help interpret our vision of what we wanted our home to look like when completed. I did a little research and contacted Lindsey. When we had our first meeting, Lindsay walked into our home full of energy and a great disposition. We could instantly tell by her questions that she wanted to clearly understand what it was we wanted to accomplish with our home. It was also very clear that she was listening to what we were saying. She warned us that she would push us a bit in some areas, but the bottom line was that “this is your home and you have been living in this space for many years. It is going to be amazing when its completed.”

My research and our conversation showed that our taste differed from Lindsay's projects that we saw, but we could tell that she had a great eye and a strong viewpoint on functionality. That was the best part of our collaboration, as she heard us and figured out where we stood on the design spectrum. This all turned up in her very first detailed drawings. Even the small details are important to her. Further to all of this was the time she took to go with us to pick out the fireplace, the flooring, carpets, fixtures, furniture, appliances, and kitchen innards. In everything she did, she always gave us choices along with the reasons behind her opinions. Most importantly she did not try to push her opinion over our comfort zone.

Lindsay is creative, talented, professional, and fun to work with. Her contacts in the various trades in the industry are equally great to work with. In fact, the 2nd most important decision we made after hiring Lindsay was to hire one of the main contractors that she works with. They turned out to be fabulous and you could tell that she had a great synergy with them. We love our renovated condo. She clearly listened to us. Lindsay just recently won an interior design award and we think she could win another for our place next year. We highly recommend her and her team.
