The before and after of this Burnaby B.C. renovation must be seen to be believed! The home began dark and dated and was transformed into a fresh interior, much more reflective of this young family’s personal taste. We started the design process by creating a concept that incorporated traditional touches in contemporary finishes. This can be seen in the traditional bridge faucet done in a modern finish like bright satin brass. In order to create an open concept floor plan we removed walls between the kitchen and dining room to and painted all of the walls white to add the brightness this home was craving. We warmed up the whole space by using a medium brown tone, wide plank, hardwood flooring throughout. The kitchen boasts a huge island with incredible marble quartz countertops, perfect for entertaining. The shaker style millwork is painted in a crisp white colour and offset with lit glass cabinetry to give the kitchen a lovely, airy feel. The beautiful, oversized white and gold Visual Comfort pendants add drama and give off a soft golden glow. The crowning glory in the kitchen is the stunning, Wolf range with iconic red handles. The bathroom is completed with navy, shaker style cabinetry and gold plumbing fixtures and hardware. The bathroom floor is a total showstopper in hand made, encaustic cement tile shipped directly from Mexico. This project was a labour of love and we enjoyed every minute of creating a home these clients will love for years to come.
