This home renovation underwent a full scale renovation and the end result is a truly beautiful transformation. This busy family of five, came to us with a clear focus on improving function and maximizing storage. Right from the first meeting, we were intent of creating a home that feels joyful, welcoming, and effortlessly livable but with a better floor plan and much more functionality. Every inch of this home was reimagined through careful space planning—introducing a hardworking Mudroom, relocating the prettiest Laundry Room to the main floor, adding an additional Bathroom all while ensuring that organization was seamlessly integrated throughout the entire home.  

 

This home has a charmingly traditional aesthetic, layered with beautiful becolor, warmth, and a sense of playfulness. We intentionally selected a light hearted colour palette and the effect is a home that feels bright, airy, and full of personality.

 

At the heart of the home, the Kitchen was completely opened up to connect with the surrounding living spaces and a magical forest-like backyard beyond. We selected new patio doors to enhance this connection, flooding the room with natural light. Soft sky blue cabinetry paired with warm brass accents creates a luminous, uplifting atmosphere. Panelled appliances blend seamlessly into the millwork for a cohesive look, while a custom-built pantry adds both beauty and exceptional storage. Despite its generous size, the kitchen was designed with efficiency top of mind—everything has its place including spices, kid's water bottles, countertop appliances and utensils. The client requested the sink be installed along the side wall, subtly tucked away from the main sightline, ensuring that the open concept space remains visually calm and effortlessly uncluttered. The Dining Room carries through the same serene sky blue palette, complemented by custom white oak built-ins and a beautiful brass and linen light fixture, creating a cohesive and elegant transition from the kitchen.

 

Function meets charm in the mudroom, where a springy green paint selection sets the tone. Custom storage was designed for each child, accommodating shoes, boots, backpacks, and sports equipment. A whimsical, vintage-inspired brass star light fixture adds the perfect finishing touch. The Powder Room is layered with beautiful fixtures, whimsical wallpaper, and a custom white oak vanity, this small space delivers both charm and practicality in equal measure.

 

The Laundry Room stands out as one of the most delightful spaces in the home. Wrapped in a fresh lemon-patterned wallpaper, it exudes brightness and cheer. We designed custom millwork with a farmhouse sink and a vintage inspired light fixture to enhance its character, while a charming oval window adds architectural interest. Underfoot, a butter yellow penny round tile laid in a starburst pattern brings a sense of whimsy and craftsmanship that makes the space truly special.

 

Upstairs, the layout was reworked to better serve the family’s needs. The original shared bathroom was divided into two, giving the family’s daughter her own dedicated space while still maintaining a functional bathroom for the boys. Her bathroom is compact yet highly efficient, with every detail carefully considered. Gold plumbing fixtures add sophistication, while blue and white penny round tiles and soft floral wallpaper create a soft, feminine touch. The boys’ bathroom was completely reconfigured to improve usability, featuring a long trough sink and extended mirror to allow both boys to use the sink at once. We selected a cool navy blue and white cement tile which grounds the space and continues up behind a custom white oak shelving unit, durability and the perfect amount of visual impact.

 

The primary ensuite is truly a serene spa like retreat. This client loves to relax in the bath so we sourced the most incredible, sculptural matte white soaking tub. The stunning tub anchors the space, paired with a soft turquoise and ivory palette allows the room to feel calm and airy. A generous steam shower designed for two is a true luxury that the clients love. This marble mosaic floor completes the room with the perfect touch of texture and sophistication.  We set out to design this home for family life while celebrating colour, light, and tons of thoughtful detail throughout. The end result is a truly functional space filled with moments of joy—proving that a home can be both beautifully designed and effortlessly charming.
