This project and these clients were a dream to work with. Our client was referred to us by a friend that we'd worked with previously. Within the first five minutes of our initial meeting we knew this was going to be a great collaboration. The spacious family home had great bones but was in need of a major renovation including a newly configured floor plan, new fixtures and finishes and all new furniture and accessories. We kicked off the design process by creating an inspiration package, the perfect way to visually illustrate to clients the creative direction we hope to take their project in.
At the very top of our client’s wish list was a home that is a mix of updated elegance without sacrificing an ounce of comfort. We began by selecting an airy, clean colour palette with warm toned flooring and hand rubbed brass accents that add a touch of sparkle and character. We added further architectural interest by designing arched interior doors, millwork details, and details throughout the home.
The stunning kitchen space is a great blend of form and function. Every inch was considered in this space which includes custom storage solutions, expansive work spaces, and an oversized island for family and friends to gather around. The kitchen finishes are a continuation of warm wood, brass details, and handmade iridescent tiles. The custom made arched sink window allows light to flow into the kitchen and gives a beautiful view of the backyard pool.
The primary bedroom and bathroom were designed specifically for our client as a place to relax and unwind. The custom designed arched door leading from the primary bedroom to the bathroom adds a beautiful feminine touch. The primary bathroom includes an oversized soaker tub and separate walk in shower perfect for relaxation and daily use. The lighting in this bathroom is decidedly feminine and luminates the space with a beautiful, warm glow.
The son’s room has a slightly more of a masculine vibe complete with a rich green wall to add colour and drama against the warm toned leather headboard. The son’s bathroom was designed with a nautical touch as a nod to his Dad, a commercial fisherman. This bathroom is a mix of matte black plumbing, white oak wood shiplap walls and brass wall sconces. The end result is a little bit masculine, a little bit nautical but most of all a perfectly designed functional space complete with charm and character.
To say this project was a labour of love is an understatement. It was truly our pleasure to create a home that this incredibly generous and kind family will live in and create memories here for years to come.
I’d decided that the time had come to undertake a renovation on my house but I really wasn't sure where to start. Lindsay came highly recommended to me by friends who had worked with her several times in the past and had loved working with her. From my initial meeting with Lindsay, I knew she was "the one". She put me at ease right away and walked me through the whole process of what to expect while working with her. I went from wanting a new kitchen and maybe some minor updates to deciding to go for it and let her design my "dream home." She makes the process so easy and will be with you every step of the way to make sure things run smoothly. She works with the best of the best in the trades industry as well as wonderful suppliers and trade reps. She has truly impeccable taste and in her own special way, she will listen to you but also leads you down the garden path to the most fabulous results. I wouldn't have wanted to do this renovation with any other designer! Thank you Lindsay, for being my partner in this huge undertaking. You truly are the BEST!
