own mind counselling

When our Clients signed the lease on this commercial office space it looked sad and tired. Sincerely Lindsay Design Co. was hired and quickly got to work setting out to breathe new life into this dated space. What was originally a massage therapy clinic was about to become the office space for Own Mind Counselling, a group of highly respected registered clinical counsellors based in North Vancouver. This project included the renovation of the main reception area and four private counselling rooms. From the outset, our goal was to create a bright, happy space that was soothing, calm and filled with natural light. We began by painting out the entire space in a soft warm white to brighten up the overall feel. Each private counselling room has its own unique, yet cohesive wall covering which adds colour, drama and individuality to each private office. Since we were working within a budget, we opted to work with the existing floors and to replace the ceiling tiles, which did wonders to visually brighten and lift the space. While replacing the ceiling tiles, we added additional sound proofing to each counselling room to combat noise transfer and assure client privacy. The lighting throughout is subtle yet striking. The lights are all installed on dimmers which gives a soft warm glow, perfect for group therapy or guided meditation. The window coverings are woven jute to add a soft touch of organic warmth to each office. The finishing touches for the project included an entire furniture package of beautiful, comfortable pieces including leather loveseats, velvet chairs, woven rugs, accessories and hand selected artwork. We definitely achieved our goal of creating a warm, inviting space that feels bright, airy and welcoming to a wide variety of people. Our clients are thrilled with the end result and we’re proud have helped bring their vision to life!
